Our area is finally starting to progress

Image
Kia ora whanau!! I hope that you all had a great week. This week was a pretty solid week of work. We saw some miracles and some progression with our friends. Sorry for not writing last week yall. We finished our zone conference trip on the south island last week. It was a good trip and had some good conferences. It is also a ton of fun whenever we get to go to the south island. I get to catch up with some missionaries that I've served with and the south island is beautiful. So, it's always a good time. This week we were able to completely focus on our own area which was awesome. We found a couple of new people to teach which is perfect. Right now we are trying to build up a teaching pool so we've just been trying to find new people. We spent a lot of time just parking and walking around Porirua, which helped us find a couple of new people which was awesome. One of our friends that we found about a month ago has just started to progress. His name is Keean Kotuhi. He is a mao...

Zone conferences

Ata marie whanau! I hope that you have all had a good week, I love and miss you all! These last 2 week were pretty good to be honest. We kept really busy so that was good. Last week and this week we have had zone conferences in the north island and in the south island. We had Palmerston North zone, Flaxmere zone, and Hastings zone conference to start the week. Then, we had a day for exchanges with the Flaxmere elders. The next day we had to drive back to Wellington from Hawkes Bay which is 4 hour drive with no stops. So we drove back and then we had a flight that evening, so we had to get packed up and ready to get on the plane. Basically we spent the whole day traveling. These last couple of days we have spent in Dunedin and Christchurch on the south island, it has been really fun. I always enjoy coming down here because I get to see areas that I never served in and I get to see some cool parts of New Zealand. Overall, it has been a really good week and time has been flying.  The ...

Exchanges in Dannevirke

Image
Malo e lelei everybody! I hope you are all doing good. I know you are probably impressed that I am writing 2 weeks in a row, I am proud of myself as well. My week was not too bad. We had exchanges this week in Dannevirke with the Elders up there. It was a good exchange and it's always good to be on exchanges. Nothing crazy really happened though. My comp and I have been finding it a little harder to be motivated lately. Being in the same area has proven difficult to find new people to work with. We had a good weekly planning last week and it seemed like a switch was flipped with me and my comp. So I have high hopes that this week is going to be much different. I realized that I need to have more faith in the work. That is really what has been lacking lately. Anyways, that'll be it for the week. Sorry for the lack of entertainment, hoping things pick up. One thing I learned this week from my studies is that faith is a principle of action and power. We must act on our faith in or...

Ngarau Hina's baptism

Image
Manuia le aso everybody! So sorry that this is a little bit late. I suck at writing these emails every week, sorry Mom. We had transfers to deal with this last week. It was busy and hectic, but it was good. I'm hoping that that is the last time I will be helping out with those. Transfer weeks are exhausting. Other than that, the work is still going pretty slowly. We have one friend that is progressing though. His name is Kyle, he has been reading the Book of Mormon every single day. But his only hold up is that he goes to his own church, and doesn't think it’s right to join another one. It has been really cool to teach him though because over time we have been able to see the Book of Mormon changing him. We taught him last night and it was so obvious that the Book of Mormon was helping him draw closer to Jesus Christ. So, please pray for Kyle everybody. I was able to attend a girls baptism that I had found and taught about 6 months ago. It was super cool because we had put her ...

Malo e lelei everybody! I hope that you have all had a wonderful week. I hope that each of you wished your mothers a happy mothers day. If you haven't, make sure to go do that now. I would also like to apologize for being terrible at writing emails every week, especially to my mother. It's been a busy few weeks, but they have been awesome. We got to go to the temple again last week. So that meant packing up and driving a van 7 hours up to Hamilton with a bunch of other missionaries. It was super fun, I love a good road trip. I'm so blessed to have gone on a couple temple trips while I've been serving here. It is not to easy to get up there, and it definitely isn't cheap. Each time I go I am reminded of God's Plan of Salvation. One of the things that really stood out to me this time is that when we sacrifice things in our life, it is a similitude to the Savior's sacrifice. Obviously, we can never compare our sacrifices to His ultimate sacrifice, but sacrifice...

South Island Trip

Image
Kia ora everybody! This week was a good week, but it was definitely a tiring one. This whole week we had zone conferences down in the south island in Nelson, Christchurch, and Dunedin. So, we were sitting in a lot of meetings and after those meetings we would fly out to the next meeting. It's fun getting to see all the different places, but it is also extremely tiring. Especially when you are sleeping on the floor all week. We were able to have a couple of exchanges while we were down there which was awesome. Other than that, I don't have much to talk about with you guys. Sorry, life has been pretty boring lately and not much new is happening for me to talk about with you guys. I'm doing awesome and just know that I love you guys and I pray about you guys all the time. Lately I've been focusing a lot on Goals and Plans(shout out to CH. 8 of Preach my Gospel). It has been so beneficial for me lately. I truly do believe that setting goals and plans is a major part of livi...

General Conference

Malo e lelei everybody! I hope you all had a blessed week. I'm sorry it's been a while, we've just been busy with a lot of stuff recently. It's all super repetitive and not very exciting. We've had transfers, intakes, outtakes, zone conferences, and a lot of long meetings, but it has been good. I can't complain because we get a lot of special opportunities. We had a pretty cool miracle this week. We were taking a new missionary to the bus stop to take him to his first area. We had some time to kill when we got there, so I thought we'd go and talk to some people to get the new elder some missionary experiences. I felt prompted to go and walk this one direction to a bridge that I had never walked across. A group of people passed by and we started saying hello to them. One of them stopped and began to talk to us. He said that he saw us all dressed up and wondered who we were and what we were doing. We began to give him the whole shpeel, and we were able to teac...
