Zone conferences

Ata marie whanau! I hope that you have all had a good week, I love and miss you all! These last 2 week were pretty good to be honest. We kept really busy so that was good.

Last week and this week we have had zone conferences in the north island and in the south island. We had Palmerston North zone, Flaxmere zone, and Hastings zone conference to start the week. Then, we had a day for exchanges with the Flaxmere elders. The next day we had to drive back to Wellington from Hawkes Bay which is 4 hour drive with no stops. So we drove back and then we had a flight that evening, so we had to get packed up and ready to get on the plane. Basically we spent the whole day traveling. These last couple of days we have spent in Dunedin and Christchurch on the south island, it has been really fun. I always enjoy coming down here because I get to see areas that I never served in and I get to see some cool parts of New Zealand. Overall, it has been a really good week and time has been flying.

The week before that we had some time in our area so we were able to go out and do some finding. We were able to find a couple of new friends, but what is hard is trying to teach them while we are away for zone conferences. We scheduled a zoom lesson with one of them, but it fell through. So we've been struggling to help our friends progress when we are away from our area a lot, which is hard.

Spiritual thought:
1 Corinthians 2:9 "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him."
I came across this scripture the other day, and it has been the center of my thoughts as of lately. I started something called “ponderizing" a little over a month ago. It is the idea that I memorize a scripture a week, and I also put the scripture in places where I can always see it so I am always thinking about its teachings and its principles. It has really helped me to continually think about the scriptures and apply them into my life. I would invite you all to read the talk "My Heart Pondereth Them Continually" by Devin G. Durrant, 2015 October General Conference. Also, I invite you all to begin to ponderize 1 verse of scripture a week. It’s a tough challenge, but I know the blessings that this activity can bring. It’s so worth it!

Anyways, I love you all. Take care for me. Have a fantastic week!

one of the first chapels in New Zealand history. Matthew Cowley often met here for church and he translated the Book of Mormon in Maori a couple of houses down the road.
