Thanksgiving🦃

Kia ora whanau!! Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving week. Mine was really good to be honest. We actually had Thanksgiving out here which was a miracle. So, in New Zealand they don't celebrate Thanksgiving sadly. I didn't really expect to have one this year. But, thank goodness for American senior couples. In our zone we have one senior couple and their name is the Moffets. They are from Bountiful and they are awesome. They put on a massive Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday. We even got turkey which is crazy, cuz there is not a single turkey in all of New Zealand. Somehow, our mission president found one and brought it. Anyways, the feed was massive. Our whole zone gathered and we just had a great feast. It was cool to show some of the missionaries in our zone Thanksgiving, because a lot of them grew up on the islands, NZ, or Australia and never had Thanksgiving before. My companion tried turkey for the first time and he loved it. Safe to say it was such a fun gathering and...

Kia ora whanau!! I hope you all had a fantastic week. Mine was pretty good. We kept busy and I cannot complain. A little update with the work. We still have Jonah on date for next Saturday which is awesome. We've just been struggling to meet with them this last week because they are crazy busy rn. Hopefully we can meet with him and Isaiah this week sometime. We also started teaching another part member family. The kid Dante is 12 and has been coming to church for a while. We were able to start teaching him this week which has been awesome. He says he is not ready for baptism yet so we will work with him and help him get there. Other than that, that's about all the updates for our friends so far. This week, we were able to go street contacting heaps which has been fun. It's so much better than door knocking and I'm just glad I'm in an area where I can do it now. On Saturday we went to the plaza to invite people to church, we were walking around for a little while and...

Malo e lelei!! How is everybody doing? I hope you are all doing great. I'm doing alright right now. Honestly this week was pretty rough. So, Tuesday morning I wake up and my stomach is acting up. Little did I know that the rest of the day I would spend the rest of the day with intestinal distress. I kept throwing up until my stomach was empty and nothing was left. Sorry for the description yall but I thought I'd throw it out there. And then on Wednesday, I had a massive headache and some bad nausea. So for all of Tuesday and Wednesday we were cooped up doing absolutely nothing. It was pretty miserable honestly. I mostly felt bad for my companion because he just had to sit there all day. The only good thing that came of it was I lost heaps of weight. At the beginning of this transfer I was working on losing some extra weight I put on when I was in Nelson, and after this week I was down12 pounds, so that was good. Shoutout to the sickness. Anyways, the rest of the week not much h...

Mission tour

Malo e lelei! How is everybody? I'm doing pretty good right now. Just chillin really. We had a great week and the work is awesome. This week we were really busy with mission tour. Elder Jaggi of the area presidency came and visited our mission. We had zoom meetings all week and and we met him in person on Thursday. So, basically all week we had meetings. I really loved the in person one, the spirit was so strong and I learned a lot. But man those zoom meetings were miserable. We couldn't hear anything and it was just hard to pay attention. It was a blessing to have a general authority come and visit the mission though. Because of mission tour, we didn't get as much time to work our area which was a bummer. But, things are still moving forward here. Our friend Jonah is still on date for the 2nd of December and we got his mom's approval so it's looking all good. We had to push his friend Isaiahs date back a little bit because his mom wants him to have more time to pre...
