Friends

Kia ora whanau!! I hope you all had a fantastic week. Mine was pretty good. We kept busy and I cannot complain.

A little update with the work. We still have Jonah on date for next Saturday which is awesome. We've just been struggling to meet with them this last week because they are crazy busy rn. Hopefully we can meet with him and Isaiah this week sometime. We also started teaching another part member family. The kid Dante is 12 and has been coming to church for a while. We were able to start teaching him this week which has been awesome. He says he is not ready for baptism yet so we will work with him and help him get there. Other than that, that's about all the updates for our friends so far.

This week, we were able to go street contacting heaps which has been fun. It's so much better than door knocking and I'm just glad I'm in an area where I can do it now. On Saturday we went to the plaza to invite people to church, we were walking around for a little while and we were able to invite about 150-200 people to church in about an hours time which was pretty cool. Sadly, none of them came to church. But, we'll keep at it. We were able to have 5 of our friends come to church which was awesome.

Also, this week one of my friends that I was teaching in Nelson got baptized. His name is Wayne, I've probably talked about him in my emails before. But, basically he's been taught for 2 years and had millions of lessons. While I was teaching him, it was a big struggle trying to help him get baptized. But, this week I got to watch his baptism over zoom. That was honestly so cool and I'm so glad I got to see that happen.

Which makes me want to talk about baptism and why it's important. Baptism is a covenant (promise) that we make with God. Through the covenants we make, we can bind ourselves to God and come closer to him. So, if any of you want to grow closer to God and haven't been baptized before, i invite you to do so. I know that it has helped me strengthen my relationship with my Heavenly Father.

Anyways, that's it from me. Hope you all have a good week.
