Quick update

Good evening everybody!! This is a bit late so I'm going to keep it short. It was a good week tho. Here's a list of some things I did this week: - played in a touch rugby tournament. Our president allowed us to play because it is an annual event that missionaries usually go to. I got smacked up the whole time. All the Samoans were just running around me. - we are setting up a time to record a song in a studio. We are going to produce the song and then put it out on social media soon. So stay tuned... - had exchanges with Elder Hawkins. We basically did service all day and then had a lesson with a drunk guy on his front porch. - felt really lonely on valentines day as I saw all the couples in downtown Wellington😂 I'll just share one thing real quick that happened to me tonight. We were visiting a less active that served a mission a while ago. He talked about his mission and how he loved it. Then, we began to talk about the importance of conversion. I began to think about th...

Scabies and hospital trips

Kia ora everybody!! I hope you have all had a fantastic couple of weeks. To be completely honest mine haven't been. But that's alright. Anyways, not much to report on for these last 2 weeks, unfortunately. So, me and my companion and the other elders in our flat were put in quarantine all of last week, along with other companionships in the zone. I was exposed to a bug called Scabies, you may have heard the name. I actually was infested by the bug. I had bites all over my back and arms. It really isn't that harmful of a bug, just feels like mosquito bites. But, it's pretty serious because it can spread really easily. So, we had to coop ourselves up in our flat for a whole week. We had to deep clean everything to help get rid of it. Other than that, we did nothing but sit around the flat and play card games. Safe to say we were all a little depressed, but we made it out. We got out of quarantine this last Monday and I was excited to just get out of the house and do some ...

Hamilton Temple Trip

Morena katoa! Hope you have all had a great couple of weeks. I know it's been a lil bit. Sorry we've been pretty busy.  Anyways, these last 2 weeks have been pretty wild. Honestly, it has been a lot of fun. 2 weeks ago we went on a road trip up to Dannevirke for a baptism. It's about a 2.5 hour drive. We were going because my companion taught the people getting baptized. I was just along for the ride. So, that was already pretty wild for being on the mission. The same day we almost got in a fight with this mongrol mob gang member. It was me and 3 other missionaries, the other 3 are massive islanders, and this one guy tried started a fight with all of us. He was getting up in our faces and we just stood there and tried giving him a hug🤣. He kept threatening us for like 15 minutes but he never actually did anything so we just walked away after we got our food. This all happened in the same day. That was a pretty wild week honestly. Then, just a few days later we had MLC. Whi...

Goodbye Porirua

Kia ora whanau!!! Hope you have all had a great week. This week has been very busy which is always good on the mission. Transfer news! So I'm getting transferred to Wellington, which is literally the zone right next to Porirua and my flat is like a 10 minute drive away. So I'm not really moving that far away. But ya I'm going to be in downtown Wellington so it'll be interesting to work in a big city. I don't really like cities that much, I would much rather prefer serving in small towns. But, I'm sure I'll grow to love it. I'm pretty sad that I have to leave Porirua, I really wanted to stay for 1 more. I grew so close to the ward here, the work was going so good, we have heaps of people lined up for baptism here soon. It's honestly been my favorite area by far. Porirua turned into my home so it's been hard to say goodbye. But, I know I'm needed in Wellington. My new companion is Elder Toutai, he is also from Tonga. I have had Tongan companion...

Dante and Denzel's baptism!

Image
Morena whanau!!! I hope you all have had a good week. Life is too good out here in Porirua at the moment. The area is amazing, the work is amazing, and the miracles are even better. This week we were able to have Dante and Denzels baptism. It was an awesome experience and I felt the spirit. The mom, who is less active went up and bore her testimony for the first time in years at their baptism. The mom’s mom (Dante and Denzels grandma) was super grateful because she hadn't seen or heard her daughter bear her testimony for years. Then, the next day at church, Dante received the aaronic priesthood. It's been awesome teaching this family because not only has it helped the kids but it has helped the mom and their relatives as well. Missionary work is one of the coolest things to be a part of. It is honestly the coolest thing seeing the change in others when you just reach out and help. The work is moving forward. We haven't been able to meet much with our friends because they ar...

Happy New Years!!

Image
Kia ora everybody, and happy new years!! I'm going to keep this short because not much happened and im tired. Anyways, currently it is 2024 when I am writing this and you guys are still in 2023. We are in the future here in New Zealand. New years wasn't really much out here especially on the mission. I don't think they really celebrate it that much here. I didn't hear any fireworks and the whole town seemed to be asleep. It was still good and I had some fun. I gave a last minute 15 minute talk in sacrament on new years resolutions. It helped me reflect and made me want to make some serious resolutions for this year and actually keep them🤣. I would invite you all to do the same. Alright, here's a little update on the work. Work was a little tough this week because everybody is out of town for the holidays. It was tough trying to have some lessons. But, we did our best. We are still teaching Dante and Denzel, and they are both getting baptized this Saturday which is ...
