Ka Mate

Kia ora whanau!! How is everybody doing?? I hope yall are doing good and enjoying the winter back there. It was a good week but it was really long. Had some good fun.

We had an awesome lesson with a friend. We are teaching a couple named Calum and Victoria. They are super cool, and super interested in the gospel. We taught them the resto and then gave them a Book of Mormon. Calum said that he would read 100 pages of the book a day. So that is incredible. Respect to that man. We are excited to go back and teach them! We also have been working with Gila to get him ready for baptism. He really wants to be baptized and even had a dream about falling from a waterfall into water. Then, when he looked back at the waterfall, it opened and Jesus came to him in a red robe. This is why he wanted to be baptized. Such a cool story. But, we have some things to work through with him to get him ready. Please pray for him guys!

Anyways, we were able to have some fun this week for the Relief Society 181st anniversary. Our ward threw a huge party for it. They had all the different cultures bring their own food and perform their special dances. It was really cool. We had a member invite us to do the haka with them, me and my comp didn't know how but we of course said yes. So, they taught us and we were able to perform. The practices were pretty cool. But, when we got to the performance it was unreal. It was so powerful and I felt the spirit as I did it too. It was such an odd but awesome experience. Never have my arms or thighs been so red and swollen from slapping. It was so cool. I have a video but it's kind of long. Not sure how I'd send it. The food there was amazing of course. Also, the Samoan performances were so cool. Everybody started yelling Shehoooooo. I didn't know what it meant but I started yelling it anyways. All of the islanders started laughing at me. The members here are awesome and so welcoming. Love this ward!

But ya that was my week. Nothing too crazy but it was a good one. I guess I'll finish it off with a spiritual thought!

I just wanted to talk about a very important topic, and that is to always trust in the Lord. As we tried to help Gila with some things before baptism, we constantly reminded him to trust in the Lord. I just want to testify of the power of trusting in the Lord. The Lord does bless those that trust in him and rely on him.
Proverbs 3:5
¶ Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

I know it's a very popular scripture. But it is also a very powerful one as well. God knows everything about us and everything about this world. We should and must trust in the Lord. We must always try to seek for his understanding and not our own. I know that if we let God guide our life, he will lead us exactly where we need to be, and that is in his eternal presence. So, if you are having any tough decisions or questions right now, I would tell you to trust God and seek answers from him through prayer. Trust in the Lord!

Alright that's all from me, I love you all and hope you have an awesome week!!!
