Service

Hey yall, how are you guys doing? Hope everything is well and you're all staying safe. Not much crazy stuff happened this week, but it was a good week none the less. Had a couple of cool miracles for sure.

First of all, we did a ton of service this week. We didn't plan on any of it but we did it. On Thursday we helped somebody move their entire house while they just sat in their car the whole time. But hey that's alright. That took about 6 hours, and they weren't very thankful after. But it is what it is. Right after that, we went and raked this dudes leaves for 4 more hours until it got dark. Felt like I had the back of an 80 year old man that night. Then, the next day we went back at it for 5 more hours to finish raking the leaves. Although it was tuff and not fun, I am beyond grateful to serve my fellow men, even if they aren't grateful:).

Found a couple people this week which was way more than last week. We found a girl named Becca and a guy named DeMarcus. They were super elect and interested so I'm very happy about that. Hopefully we get to teach them again this week. We did a lot of knocking this week so it is definitely satisfying to see the fruits of our labor. We met a couple of interesting people while knocking and we also met a couple of jerks. This guy started yelling "It's Coffee!!" in our faces when he grabbed his package with some coffee in it. That was pretty funny honestly. Then we visited an inactive member, and when we went to go shake his hand he just stared at us and didn't say anything. So awkward but it was whatever... That was all in this small town called Mulvane. Mulvane is seriously evil, never seen so much bad crap go on in one city. If you ever want to get Bible bashed just go to Mulvane, Kansas.

I found a member out here that is related to my sister-in-law, Kristen, so that was a cool miracle. Don't know how closely related they are but still it's cool. Another miracle was with our cool friend Brandi and her daughter's friends. On Sunday it was around 4ish and we were exhausted because it was fast Sunday and we just didn't have much motivation to do much. After doing some visits we felt prompted to go over to Brandi's about 2 hours earlier than we planned, which ended up being perfect because we got there when all of her "adopted" kids were there. They’re not legally adopted but they are always over there so that is the term Brandi uses. They are Gracie's friends. They are all 9th graders and man is it mind blowing hearing all the things that these kids have gone through and done at the age of 14. Definitely very humbling for where I come from. But, it was awesome to be able to talk to them and teach them, because they had told us that their parents never cared to teach them good morals. A couple of them had parents that were alcoholics and abusive. So, me and my comp really want to be able to teach these kids some more to be able to teach them and help them out a bit. The gospel can help people in so many ways!!

Alright, so for my spiritual thought of the week I want to talk about some Christlike attributes, specifically love and charity. Studied a little bit about it this week preparing for a missionary moment at a baptism. Anyways, i wanted to talk about the need of love and charity in this world. As we all have seen, this world is a very evil place filled with lots of terrible things. It's hard to go a day without hearing something that is heartbreaking. Which constantly reminds me of the need for love and charity. We can all do a much better job at loving more and serving others more often. Small little acts of love and charity can go a very long way. "Charity never faileth".

Moroni 7:47
47 But charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him

So I invite you all to look outward and try to serve your fellow men and women. Especially during this holiday season when some aren't fortunate enough to be able to afford a Christmas. A small gift or act of kindness will have a much bigger impact than you think. So love others and look to serve!!

Anyways, love yall. Hope yall are doing good and staying safe. Have a good week!
