Transfers and Tweakers

Good afternoon yall! How is everybody doing? Hope all is good. It's been an odd week here in Kansas. This week is transfers and I found out that I'm getting transferred which I have mixed feelings about. But hey we'll see how it goes.

Anyways, not much has gone on this week. Just a regular week in Kansas. Everybody here is crazy haha. Started off the week with exchanges with Elder Woodrum. He's a stud. Love that guy. We had some fun and did some good work. We were knocking a house right next to one of our friends. Turns out that house was a red dot. Which means "DO NOT CONTACT". So, this guy ripped into us for a little bit. Apparently some elders before us had accused him of being "apostate". So funny! He didn't know what it meant and we just started laughing at him. But he yelled at us and we walked away. That was a good day. Finished the day off with a cool air plane escape room game, that took us way too long haha.

Then, we had exchanges again on Thursday. And man had I been looking forward to this day. We had been planning this exchange for the entire transfer. It was with me and Elder Nguyen (both of us are trainees). Me and Elder Nguyen are homies and had been hyping this day up for a while. Lemme tell ya we made some magic happen. We had a goal to find 5 people in that one day. Which is pretty insane here in Kansas because that's about how much you can find in a week. So we did a lot of knocking and walking around in the hood of College Hill. We talked to this dude sitting on his porch listening to some ghetto rap and gave him a BOM. So we found him and his sister. Then we found 2 more people. To cap off the day, we found 2 of the craziest people I've ever met. One of them was this guy named Lucas and he was the craziest tweaker. He kept pacing around when we were talking to him. Then he would look at us with the creepiest smile. Then, randomly he started talking about space plants or some weird stuff like that. I had to cover my laugh with my hand during this entire conversation. His sister was also crazy too. She just started talking about whatever randomly. They were taking a hit of a dab pen during our convo. But hey, we found them so it doesn't matter. Then we had some cold soup from a member👍🏼 So me and Elder Nguyen capped off the day with a date night at Red Robin. We had to treat ourselves after such a successful day. Funnest day on my mission so far.

Then, on Friday it was bitter cold and pouring rain. We decided to go all the way out to Bois D' Arc which is literally a 45 minute drive from our apartment. It is the very end of our area and there is literally nothing there. There is 1 member dot out there that hadn't been contacted since 2015. So we had to make the contact. Turns out he doesn't live there anymore and the lady was an atheist so that was a waste of time. Took a stop at this ghetto Asian buffet on the way home. It was actually muy bien.

Not much happened on Saturday. Although, I did find out that Sprite cranberry is out so you know I had to get one. Man are they scrumptious.

Sunday, there wasn't anything crazy, but we had dinner with this family and it was so good, especially after fast Sunday. They lived in this huge house in the middle of nowhere. It was super cool just being out there. They were awesome and it was a ton of fun.

That’s pretty much my week, except for Thursday. I've been learning guitar lately. It's been coming along and I've learned a couple songs. They are kind of rough tho. When you have a lot of free time there is a lot of opportunities to learn new weird talents.

Well, that's it yall. I hope you guys have had an amazing week. And I hope this week is even better. Yall are the best. Everybody stay safe. Email me por favor
