Peppermint hot chocolate??

Well, good evening yall!! Good to see you guys. Hope yall had a great week. This week we had transfers which was great because I was definitely excited for a new area.

So I got transferred to the Park Hill area which is right below Rose Hill and it is even more rural which I didn't think was possible. I got put into a trio for a week with Elder Bryce, and Elder Anderson. We dropped off Elder Anderson on Sunday for NZ. So, that was definitely a hard goodbye.

Had some wild experiences this week tho. To explain the title I have to give a little bit of back ground.  My comps had warned me about a family they had been teaching and wanted me to meet them. So we went over there and hung out for a little bit. The boyfriend is an inactive member and the girlfriend is on date. Well not really anymore. She has some issues we have to figure out before baptism haha.. So, a little about the girlfriend. A couple of years ago she was kidnapped for 2 months. She was tortured and all that terrible stuff. So she has been through a lot of crap to say the least. Because of all that she is a little traumatized and a little crazy. Anyways, I got to learn about all of this. After the fact she asks us if we want hot chocolate, so we said yes of course. So we're drinking this hot chocolate she made for us. We notice that it tastes like Peppermint but we also notice it tastes a little off. It was a little watery too. At first I didn't think much of it. But my comp noticed that there was a Peppermint alcohol bottle on the kitchen counter. So when we saw that we stopped drinking and slowly poured out the hot chocolate in the sink. Fortunately, none of us felt off so we don't think she used that. Hopefully it was just some Peppermint hot chocolate gone wrong.

Saturday was a ton of fun. We went to this tiny town called Rock, which has a population of about 50 people. But there is this super cool 60s diner that is there so we wanted to eat there. While we were there we decided to knock in Rock, and the first house we knocked we met this super cool guy named Jeremiah. He invited us in and we hung out for like 3 hours. He offered us a beer and we politely declined. Then he proceeded to drink like 5 bottles while we hung out haha. Anyways, we taught him the first 2 lessons and he loved them. Then he bought us dinner at the diner. So it was a great night already. But, to cap it off we went star gazing on our way home. We were in the middle of nowhere Kansas miles away from anything. So we parked on the side of the road and enjoyed the milky way. Such a great night.

Little spiritual message. Haven't done one yet. One of my favorite talks is the first great commandment by Jeffrey R Holland. It emphasizes discipleship and our love for the Lord. There is a reason that love for God is the first commandment. It is the most important. So, occasionally I would just invite you guys to ponder and think if you have done all you could to show the Lord your love. Yall should go check out that talk because it is super powerful!

Anyways, Safe to say that it was a fantastic week and I love this new area. The mission work is moving and I'm glad I'm here. I hope yall have a good week. Stay safe out there yall! Love you all!!
