Where's Rob?
Kia ora!! This week was very busy. Man, I've never been more tired in my life. But, I love every bit of it.
At the start of the week, we had MLC which was really fun. It was a 2 day thing and we had all the missionaries fly in from the south island to stay with us. We were able to have some good meetings, and an amazing fireside at the mission home. It was a good time and it was awesome to see some missionaries I haven't seen in a while. Then, on Thursday we had zone conference. So, 3 of the 7 days of our week were completely filled with meetings. I hope I don't have to sit in one ever again. But, the spirit was strong at all of them and they were a lot of fun.
Anyways, this week we saw heaps of miracles. We have a couple of potential baptisms coming up this transfer or next which is awesome. The members have been giving us some referrals which is super exciting. It's great having a missionary minded ward. We definitely cannot do this work without members.
Alright, time to explain the title. One of our friends is named Rob. He is the man and he's hilarious. He's been taught for a while and has come to church a few times. He came this week which was awesome. But, the thing with Rob is that he has basically nothing. His flat has one beat up sofa, a dresser and basically nothing else. He has struggled in life with some really bad drug addictions, and hasn't been employed for ages. He goes down to the plaza to beg for money. It's really sad to see. But, he wants to better his life and we're here to help him. This week, we were trying to get Rob to the addiction recovery program. So, we tried calling, no answer. We then went to his little flat, no answer. Then, we went down to the plaza(where he goes to beg for money) and walked all around it, couldn't find him. Then, we went back up to his flat and banged on his window. I think we knocked probably 1000 times, and called him 100 times. My knuckles were literally bleeding afterwards. After an hour and a half we just gave up. Then, the next day we went searching for him again. And after a little while we found him down at the plaza. So, after some searching we finally found Rob. I thought I would just tell yall about our little goose chase we had this week. We really just want to help him change and get over his addictions.
So, heres a little reminder to serve those in need. I know there is heaps of people just like Rob all over the world, and they all just need others to support them and help them. God has given us so much, so we should give to others.
Mosiah 2:17
17....that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.
That's it from me yall. I love you guys and hope you have a good week!
