Kia ora yall!! I hope you are all doing good. Life has been great here. I've been loving the mission recently. Me and Elder Clements are super close and we've been having a great time. The other elders are hilarious as well.
Alrighty, well the work has been alright. We have had a very slow first couple of weeks. We've been working hard to clean up the area book from the missionaries before. They did little to no work in this area so we are trying to pick up the trust from the members and the teaching pool as well. But we did have a cool miracle this week. Honestly the craziest thing that has ever happened on my mission. So, here's to a quick storytime. On Saturday, me and my comp were calling some people inviting them to church. An Indian guy answered, and he said he would come to church. So we were looking forward to seeing him there. Now, come sacrament on Sunday we don't see any of the friends we invited at church. But, in the middle of the meeting an Indian guy walked into the chapel. So, me and my comp thought that was the guy we invited. Once sacrament ended we ran over to introduce ourselves. But, it turns out that it was not the same guy we called. It was another Indian guy. His name is Ashudosh. He walked into the chapel himself and one of the members invited him in to sit down. After I introduced myself to him, the first thing he said to me was "how do I become a member of the church?". When he said that I was completely shook. I didn't think it was real. So, i began to explain a little about how to become a member. Then, he said "I need to be baptized or something right?". At that point I literally almost started laughing because i seriously didn't believe what I was hearing. I just started smiling because of how surprised I was. Anyways, we are going to meet up with him tomorrow and I'm excited to get to know him more. Apparently the reason he wanted to join the church is because he has a friend in Utah that's a member and his name is Gabe Johnson. So, if any of you know a Gabe Johnson that is friends with Ashudosh, then tell them they are a good friend.
We were also able to meet the BYU Living Legends group. They came to Wellington to perform some cultural dances and stuff like that. It was really cool and I was able to chat to a bunch of them.
But ya, that's really all for the week. I'm starting to love the area and the ward. Me and my companion and the other elders in the flat have a ton of fun together all the time. So it's been really good. I hope you guys are doing all good. Lemme know if there is anything I can do for you guys or if there's anything I need to pray about!
I love you all and I hope you guys have a great week. Kia Kaha
