Sam's Baptism!!

Malo lelei!! How is everybody? I hope everybody is doing good. I hear that Utah is getting dumped on by snow. Not to brag but it's 75 everyday here. Anyways, this week was pretty crappy mission work wise. But, that just happens. I don't have much much talk about but we'll see what I can scrap up.

Alright, the absolute highlight of this week was Sam's Baptism. She was somebody that we found and taught while I was in Summer Hill (my last area). She was such a miracle to us. We had the most spiritual lessons with her. Anyways, it was so awesome seeing her again and also seeing her make her first covenant with God. Although, the baptismal service was a little rough haha. First of all, the Summerhill elders forgot to bring the white jumpsuit for baptism. So, it got delayed a little bit. Then, we got into the service, it was going good. I was asked to be the chorister. So, me and Sister Mavae were in charge of the hymns. She was on the piano. The first hymn, she didn't know how to play and I didn't know what to do, so I just got up and started singing a capella and then everybody else followed. Then, for the closing hymn, nobody knew the song so we just guessed as to what it sounded like without the piano to accompany. I had to hold back laughter on the stand because of how bad it was haha. But anyways, aside from all that, it was an incredible experience and I was so glad that I was able to make it up there for it. I know that the decision she has made is going to change her life for the better.

Spiritual thought: Alright, so as I was calling the missionaries in the district the other day, they all seemed to be having a rough week like we were. So, originally I didn't have any advice for them at all. So, i pondered. And I pondered. And I pondered. Why can't we just have good weeks every week? Isn't the Lord supposed to help us in our works? All these questions came to mind. Then, I thought of a scripture which is Ether 12:6:
And now, I, Moroni, would speak somewhat concerning these things; I would show unto the world that faith is things which are hoped for and not seen; wherefore, dispute not because ye see not, for ye receive no witness until after the trial of your faith.

To me the answer to my pondering was that we need to have the bad weeks so the Lord can bless us with great weeks. We must be diligent and continue to have faith through the hard weeks. Then, the Lord will bless us with great weeks. It is just a trial of our faith. So, to all of you who may be having a bad day, a bad week, or even a bad year, I want you to know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. That light is Jesus Christ. So, have faith in him and trust in him, because at the end of the day that is all that we can really do. Believe that he will deliver you, and I promise you that he will. I know that he does and I have seen it in my own life. That's all folks.

Alright, I just tried cutting my own hair BTW so don't judge if my hair looks bad in the pictures this next week. Anyways, have a great week guys, I love you all!
