Kia ora whanau! Don't worry I'll talk about the title in a little bit. Anyways, this was a good week. Not much happened but it was a good week nonetheless. It'll be short because I need to get to bed.
Alright, New Zealand is about to get hit by Hurricane Gabrielle. I'm not sure how powerful it is or what category it is. But, it's supposed to do some damage especially to Auckland and Gisborne. It is expected for some areas to get 300 mm of rain. Idk how much that is converted to inches. Yall can do the math. But ya, where I'm at we won't get hit too hard. But we will see a ton of rain and wind for the rest of the week. Apparently it's the worst cyclone NZ has had this century. Pray for NZ yall.
One highlight of the week was a little mini exchange we had with Elder Tucker. It wasn't really an exchange, Elder Tucker and his comp Elder Loveless just had to stay the night at our place because they were waiting to pick up their car. But ya, Elder Tucker also served in Kansas and we met each other briefly while in Kansas. So, now we're in the same zone which is cool. Anyways, me and him went on a 3 hour exchange and let the trainees go together by themselves. It was a ton of fun and we had some good success. Then, at the end of the night me and Elder Tucker had a good late night convo on our front porch. It was just a good fun day.
Anyways, that's really all for the week. No miracles sadly. Also, if any of you have been following, the guy named Mervin we put on date is already off date. He is now a Do Not Contact now sadly. That sucked and really put a damper on the week. To put a long story short, Satan always attacks those trying to better themselves.
Spiritual thought:
D and C 135:3
3 Joseph Smith, the Prophet and Seer of the Lord, has done more, save Jesus only, for the salvation of men in this world, than any other man that ever lived in it. In the short space of twenty years, he has brought forth the Book of Mormon, which he translated by the gift and power of God, and has been the means of publishing it on two continents; has sent the fulness of the everlasting gospel, which it contained, to the four quarters of the earth; has brought forth the revelations and commandments which compose this book of Doctrine and Covenants, and many other wise documents and instructions for the benefit of the children of men; gathered many thousands of the Latter-day Saints, founded a great city, and left a fame and name that cannot be slain. He lived great, and he died great in the eyes of God and his people; and like most of the Lord’s anointed in ancient times, has sealed his mission and his works with his own blood; and so has his brother Hyrum. In life they were not divided, and in death they were not separated!
I love this chapter and I love Joseph Smith. I know that sounds weird. But I do, he truly has had such an impact on my life. All that I have in my life has come through the Savior and through Joseph Smith and the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Also, through the power of God he brought forth the Book of Mormon. A great quote from Jeffrey R. Holland "No wicked man could write such a book as this; and no good man would write it, unless it were true and he were commanded of God to do so.” I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God. I am very grateful for the many things I have that have come because of his great faith in our Savior Jesus Christ and also his persistence through the persecution that he faced in order to further the Lord's work and spread the gospel! I truly do love all that he did for us and I love him!
Alright, love yall. Have a good week and stay safe. Ka Kite
