The Waters of Baptism

Kia Ora Whanau! I hope you guys are doing fantastic. It was a great week of mission work. Definitely starting to see the fruits of our labors out here. I just hope that I don't get transferred because this area is just starting to pick up and I love the friends that we have. We find out transfers this Saturday so we'll see what happens. The trio is most likely going to get broken up, just depends on who leaves.

Alright, I'll talk about this week and all the success we had. So, we found 9 new people this week, we got one of our friends to sacrament, and then we put our friend Rudi on date for Baptism. So, this week was awesome. Now, don't get it twisted, I'm not a number chaser. But it is definitely good seeing your success on paper. It is very satisfying seeing the hard work go to something. This area has been turned around which is awesome to see. There were a ton of miracles this week so that was so awesome. I'll tell yall about one of the finds we had this week:

So, we had a mini zone conference this week which was awesome. But, we had to wait a while for interviews. So, while we were waiting to get interviewed, me, my comp Elder Whitaker, and one of our ZL's named Elder Komene decided to go and knock a door across the street. So, we left the Zone conf. to go and knock one single door because we were so bored. We knock the door and this mom and her daughter were legit the perfect find. Elder Whitaker chose this house and that was such a crazy miracle. Out of all the houses on the street he chose this one. We taught this family about the Plan of Salvation and they loved every bit of it. The spirit was so strong. We got a return appointment 2 days later and taught another great lesson. We're hoping to get them to church soon and hopefully put them on date as well. So, to say the least it was a fantastic week of work on my mission.

We had some pretty wild moments this week as well. My companion got hit by a car this week on his bike. Don't worry it wasn't that bad of a hit. This lady was just backing out of her driveway and my comp was riding on the sidewalk. He's perfectly fine. That was pretty whack tho. We also had a pretty funny door knocking experience. My comp Elder Whitaker told Elder Hansen "This one is all you Elder Hansen" right before the door was opened. Then, me and Elder Whitaker said "Kia Ora how are you". This confused Elder Hansen because me and Elder Whitaker both turned towards Elder Hansen to say something because it was his turn. We caught him off guard and he said "Well I guess it's my turn". He asked "how are you doing", then he realized that we already asked the guy that and he already answered, so he said "oh sorry I guess we already asked you that". Then, he asked him "I like your shirt", his shirt was the most basic green shirt I've ever seen. Then, he goes "Is green your favorite color", the guy says no. Then, Elder Hansen asks him "what is your favorite color?". The guy just slowly shut the door. Me and Elder Whitaker started dying laughing. It was just such an awkward situation and it doesn't help that the guy that we were talking to was very awkward. It honestly wasn't Elder Hansens fault, it was me and Elder Whitaker's fault but I just thought it was funny. It might not be funny reading it but it was hilarious in the moment.

Alright spiritual thought of the week: I just want to share a scripture from my reading this week.
Alma 56: 48
"And they rehearsed unto me the words of their mothers, saying: We do not doubt our mothers knew it."
So my spiritual thought of the week is to listen to your mothers because they are always right. This chapter is talking about the 2000 stripling warriors. It is such a cool story knowing how much these young men trusted in their parents and the love they had for God and their fight for freedom. So, don't doubt your mothers!
