New Zizzy

Kia Ora! How is everybody doing this week? Big news, I actually made it to NZ. So ya, it's been kind of a really wild week this week.

Anyways, a little about my last week in Kansas. We actually had a great week there and I'm glad I was there for it. We had an awesome lesson with Kim! We talked to her about the importance of Priesthood and baptism. She has been a catholic her whole 65 years of life and is now having a faith crisis. But, she didn't like how she had to be baptized again. So, we went and had a bomb lesson about the priesthood. She also showed us some show called Ancient Apocalypse. Pretty cool, yall should check it out. Sorry I'm getting off topic. Anyways, after we had a bomb lesson with her. We actually got her to work towards a date. She said Easter.... but hey it's still improvement. Elder Lassche and Bryce are going back over there Tuesday to figure it out. But ya that was awesome. She gave me a little gnome doll to remember her.

The big news of the week is that I actually made it to New Zealand. Honestly didn't think I would, but we made it. Friday, we were just going around doing visits, and I wasn't even expecting to go anymore because it seemed like there wasn't much progress. But, we got a call Friday saying that I will be flying out within the next 24 hours. So, we went and said goodbye to all of our good friends. Went and said goodbye to the Thompsons, Kim, and most importantly Grandma Scott. She gave me a CTR ring which I will wear the rest of my mission.

The flight was miserable to be honest. I had a 2 hour flight from Kansas to Houston which wasn't too bad. Then, the big Bertha was up next. For the long flight, I got the window seat and it was a 15 hour flight so that was not fun. The guy in front of me moved his chair back and I was so close to getting so mad. But, I kept my calm. I politely asked him to move his seat up. Didn't really help much but any help will have to do. I tanked through that and then had a long wait thru security and customs and stuff. That was stressful. But, tuffed thru it. Then, had a long layover for another flight. That flight was only an hour and it went by pretty quick. Then I got picked up by President and we went to the mission home. This country is so beautiful to say the least. I was legit in disbelief as i drove from Wellington to Tawa. Super happy to be out here. Although it feels so weird being so far away from the US and home. But hey we'll get used to it.

I found out tonight that my companions are Elder Hansen, and Elder Whittaker. We are serving in the Palmerston North Summer Hill area which is about 2 hours north of Wellington. It's pretty cool and I'm super excited to work. We have a mission tour with the area 70 tomorrow so that's going to be fun.

But ya, I look forward to working out here. I hate to say it, but I miss Kansas a little bit. Not the place or the people. But the friends I made there and my comps were so fun. But we're going to do the same out here. As always, I love you guys and you are always in my prayers!
