Wild Week/transfers

Image
Kia ora whanau!! How are you guys doing? Feel free to send me an email, I love hearing from you guys. I hope you guys had an amazing week. This week was pretty awesome and also pretty hectic. A lot of crazy stuff happened this week. So this might be a long email but I hope it's at least interesting. Highlight of the week was a lesson we had with our friend Sam. She is so awesome. She has such a cool story too. She started meeting with us right when I got to New Zealand and she has progressed a lot. She grew up in a member family but the family went inactive forever ago so she just stopped going to church. She wanted to get baptized when she was young but the baptism fell through because the missionaries back then forgot or something. I don't know how that happens but it did. After that her family went inactive and she never got baptized sadly. But, a couple of weeks ago we showed up to their door and that's how we found her. We wanted to ask if she would be baptized this we...

The Waters of Baptism

Kia Ora Whanau! I hope you guys are doing fantastic. It was a great week of mission work. Definitely starting to see the fruits of our labors out here. I just hope that I don't get transferred because this area is just starting to pick up and I love the friends that we have. We find out transfers this Saturday so we'll see what happens. The trio is most likely going to get broken up, just depends on who leaves. Alright, I'll talk about this week and all the success we had. So, we found 9 new people this week, we got one of our friends to sacrament, and then we put our friend Rudi on date for Baptism. So, this week was awesome. Now, don't get it twisted, I'm not a number chaser. But it is definitely good seeing your success on paper. It is very satisfying seeing the hard work go to something. This area has been turned around which is awesome to see. There were a ton of miracles this week so that was so awesome. I'll tell yall about one of the finds we had this we...

War against calories

Kia Ora Whanãu! That means hello family. The WH in Whanãu is pronounced like an F. So it sounds like fauno.I hope you guys are doing fantastic. Wishing yall the best. Its been a good week. Loving it out here in NZ. Anyways, we only have bikes so that's all we do everyday. We bike 5+ miles a day, sometimes 10+. But honestly I'm super grateful for it because it's going to help with all the calories we eat. It's also super fun just cruising around. Cars are honestly boring compared to this. But ya, we are really going to need the exercise. It is a good day if we don't get 2 dinners. I'm not trying to sound ungrateful but I'm going to get fat real quick if we keep getting food shoved down our mouths. We get member meals about every day, but on top of that whenever we visit members at night they will feed us even more. We had a Maori funeral devotional this week which was every day and they had a feast at every single one. Those Maori people will hunt you down if...

Kia Ora! How is everybody doing this week? Big news, I actually made it to NZ. So ya, it's been kind of a really wild week this week. Anyways, a little about my last week in Kansas. We actually had a great week there and I'm glad I was there for it. We had an awesome lesson with Kim! We talked to her about the importance of Priesthood and baptism. She has been a catholic her whole 65 years of life and is now having a faith crisis. But, she didn't like how she had to be baptized again. So, we went and had a bomb lesson about the priesthood. She also showed us some show called Ancient Apocalypse. Pretty cool, yall should check it out. Sorry I'm getting off topic. Anyways, after we had a bomb lesson with her. We actually got her to work towards a date. She said Easter.... but hey it's still improvement. Elder Lassche and Bryce are going back over there Tuesday to figure it out. But ya that was awesome. She gave me a little gnome doll to remember her. The big news of th...

Happy New Years!

Howdy yall! I hope everybody had a fantastic holiday weekend. So crazy that it is already 2023. 2022 felt like the longest but also the shortest year of my life. I don't know how to describe it.  Anyways, the work was a lot better this week than in the past couple of weeks. We finally found somebody for the first time in 3 weeks. Now that the holidays are over, the work should start to get a lot better. We refound our friend Jeremiah, yall have probably heard that name before from these emails. He's the really funny alcoholic. He is a piece of work let me tell you. He calls himself the Iron Kidney because he drinks 10 beers a day and says that he isn't going to die. I beg to differ but hey that's just my opinion. He tried to tell us this week that beer was healthy because it has 1 gram of protein in it. That's just 1 of the many blasphemous claims that he has haha. Got to love him tho. He always gets us food and will talk about the Bible or something. So, there is a...
