Transfers!!
Hey yall, hows it going? Hope all is well. This week was a pretty boring week. Not much success really or any crazy miracles. I'll try to scrap some stuff together for this email.
Well this week kinda flew by. Felt like a day honestly. We've been stopping by Brandi and Brother Boldens house every day this past week so we can check up on them about law of chastity and word of wisdom stuff. Trying to get all that figured out so we can get her baptized. But every time we go over there, which is daily, we seem to find a new problem that could hinder with her being baptized. They fight all the time and just create so many problems. But we're glad to try and help. I just hope that she can be baptized one day. Whether it's now or in a year. Pray for them yall!
One funny story from this week was on exchanges. Actually it's not really funny and made the week a rough one. But I'll tell yall anyways. So, me and this other elder which I will not name went on exchanges to my area. He's a very flamboyant kid and really really wants to be an AP one day. He is also not the most humble kid. His goal was to find 3 people in the day. Which is unbelievable in this Park Hill area but I was all for it because I love miracles. So, we started off in Udall. Udall is a tiny town south of Derby and nobody cares for anything we have to say there, and that is just from my experience here. But anyways, he went on complaining to me about how service is a waste of time and he was kind of chastising me for always doing it and asking people if they ever need any service. So I just put that to the side and went on with the day. Then, later we had a big lesson with one of our close friends Kim. Before the lesson I told him some things to not talk about with her because she's not ready for them. So, we get into the lesson and he proceeds to bring up the exact things that I said not to talk about. She kinda freaked out and started asking a bunch of questions. So i try to wrap up the lesson and call it short. But he cuts me off and continues to talk about it. To sum it up, that lesson went straight to crap. And after the lesson a member that is a friend of Kim's chewed us out and chewed the other elder out because Kim now is questioning her beliefs. Then, later that night my comp and this kid got into an argument over the whole thing. Me and Elder Stubbs just chilled during the hour long argument waiting to go to bed. Anyways, we basically have to start back at square 1 with Kim so that sucks.
The work has been slow this transfer and we really want it to get better the next one so pray for us yall. We need it and Kansas needs it. I don't got much else to tell yall about so I'll just go into my spiritual thought for the week.
So, today I want to talk about Jesus Christ and the Atonement. I was listening to a talk earlier this week called "His Grace is Sufficient" by Brad Wilcox. It is a BYU devotional talk and I would highly recommend yall to go listen to it. But anyways, he goes into the Atonement and while I was listening it had me thinking. Then a thought popped into my head when he said something, I can't remember what he said but it hit me like a train. So, I want yall to think of this. Imagine you had put in all this effort, blood, sweat and tears to make dinner for a loved one. But they end up not eating it. Wouldn't that hurt you? For all of us I think we can agree that would make us mad. So I kind of related this to the Atonement. Because Christ suffered for every single sin, pain, and trial. Wouldn't he want us to use it? Every time that we sin and make a mistake, and then choose to not repent and use Christs Atonement, I can imagine that would disappoint Jesus Christ. So, if any of you are caught up on something and don't want to repent about it because you feel like it is too much to be forgiven, I just want to tell you that that is not true. Christ suffered for that sin for a reason, and that reason was for us to be clean again. I testify that Christ suffered for all of us and all of our sins. He did not do this just for us to not use it. I testify that he is the Savior and Redeemer of the world. I testify that no matter how far off the path you have gone, there is always a way back and that is through Jesus Christ and his Atonement. I know this to be true and I know of the blessings that come through following Jesus Christ.
Anyways, I hope you guys have a great week and know that I love yall!
