Corn, cotton, and crackheads

Howdy yall, what is happening. This week has been a crazy week for sure. Last Tuesday we started our travel day at 3 in the a.m. We hopped on a bus and got to the airport at about 545. Then we had a flight at 845. We flew from slc to Dallas fort worth. Then we waited for an hour or 2 for our next flight. Then we flew to Kansas on possibly the smallest commercial plane every built. That was the most miserable plane ride ever. Then, we landed and got our luggage and found our mission president who is super cool. President Barr and his wife are the best. We had dinner at their house and then played some games and then spent the night at the APs house. That was fun. Then we woke up had some breakfast at the mission home and then went to our training to find our companions. That was boring but i found my comp and his name is elder Moon. He is super dope, love the guy. We get along pretty well and he is from Denver. Sorry about all this. It was a very busy two days.

Anyways, the rest of the week was filled with mission work and conference. Super crazy and a lot for sure. Right now since I'm in training I have a lot of study in the mornings which kinda sucks but it helps a lot. Slowly getting better each and every day. This week felt like an eternity haha. But it's been fun. Definitely hard adjusting to missionary life but the pamphlet "adjusting to missionary life" helps a ton for any of you future missionaries.

Can we just agree that conference weekend is the best weekend in the year. I never realized how special conference was until this weekend. At home I didn't pay attention as much as I should have. But this weekend I listened to every word of the entire conference and loved it so much. Such a blessing that we get to hear from some of the wisest people on earth for 10 hours in a weekend. I really loved Jeffrey R Hollands talk about why we don't symbolize the cross, and a lot of other super powerful stuff. I also loved Michelle D Craig's talk. She had a great quote that went something like this " trials don't mean that God has abandoned you". I don't know if that quote was close at all but it was something like that. Super good stuff.

If any of you were wondering about what Kansas is like, which im sure none of you are, I'll tell you anyways. Let me just say I miss the mountains. But hey Kansas has its own kind of beauty. It is indeed the flattest place on earth. There is not a hill over 15 feet tall within hundreds of miles. My area is like 95% cotton and corn fields. Every like 3 miles there is one house haha. Which makes it hard for mission work. But Rose Hill is a very pretty area. I'm in the Rose Hill area by the way, it is a little outside Wichita. The people here are crazy too, so funny. You'll meet some of the craziest people here.

Here's a miracle from the week tho. My first day on Wednesday of doing mission work, we went out and did some street contacting in a trailer park. And the first door we knocked we met this guy named Hector who had never heard of our church. He was a stud and listened to everything we said. He was interested and said he would read the Book of Mormon. After him we had zero success and bunch of slammed doors. So crazy tho that my first door knocked was a stud. Literally a couple houses down at another trailer park home, this big white dude that looked like the guy with the nipple ring and overalls on water boy came out of his house and cussed us out. He had the worst tan line on his forehead from wearing a hat all the time. So funny, me and my comp just started laughing and walked away. There has been a lot of funny experiences tho.

Well this is already a very long email so I won't share anymore. But yall have a great week. When the conferences get posted you all should go listen to them again cuz they are all so good. I love yall and hope you are all doing good!!

Also the car scene here is kinda crazy. Hopefully Connor reads this so he can see the pic of the m3
