Bible bashed!

Good morning everybody. How is everybody doing. Lmk by sending me an email (tyler.larson@missionary.org) I love reading them. Just another week here in good ole rose hill Kansas.

We started off the week doing exchanges which was fun going to a new area. I went to the college hill area and we stayed in the college hill elders apartment. Let me just say their apartment is 10x nicer than ours. They made ours look super ghetto. It's alright tho. Their area is also way better because it's in the city so they have way more houses and people to talk to. But ya we met this lady named Angie on exchanges and she was super elect and was super interested which was great. That was fun.

The rest of the week was just regular old missionary work. I had my first Bible bash session which was fun. Which is probably the first of many since I'm right in the Bible belt. There's these trailer homes that are in the middle of nowhere which we have knocked quite a bit. So we went on Wednesday and the first house we knocked, a shirtless guy that smelt like cigarettes walked out. We had a good conversation for a little bit just talking about our beliefs. He told us that him and his wife were former heroin addicts and homeless. It was a good conversation, then I asked if he would read the book of Mormon. When I said that he flipped out. Started trashing on us. We tried telling him that the BOM goes hand in hand with the Bible and he said that was blasphemy. We also tried to tell him that Jesus Christ and God were two separate beings and he started getting super mad. He then started calling us demons and said what we were doing was demonic. My comp is pretty good at Bible bashing and he likes to do it so he was just going back and forth. The guy would always cut us off before we could finish what we were saying. I don't like arguing with people cuz it's useless so I was just sitting there haha. After about 30 minutes we just left and went home.  Good times.

Picked up the apartment guitar this week and my comp is helping me learn. Man it's hard and it is rough on the fingers. Also its starting get cold here on some days so i got to wear some sweaters this week. Sweaters are the best and so comfy so that's been nice.

We also did a lot of service on Saturday which was super fun, and they paid us by feeding us lunch and dinner which was clutch. We did some yard work during the day. Then, at night we put up Halloween lights for a member family from Romania which was super cool. Then, on Sunday i finally got to meet the ward and they are all super cool. The ward is much bigger than I expected it to be. We also had a member feed us on Sunday night which was super nice. We have a full week of member dinners this week which is apparently super rare here.

There's not much going on here in Kansas so sorry if this email is a little boring. Also if you're ever in Kansas, go to Braums. It is so good and not that pricy. Hope yall have a fantastic week. Love yall and I'll talk to yall next week!

Dawg. Dawg is a cat that lives in our apartment complex and we don't know who owns him but his food is right outside our door.
